The challenge
SLITHM, the national tourism and hospitality training institute, needed stronger management capability and a clear view of its own strengths and gaps.
What I did
- Ran management workshops for senior staff in 2011.
- Carried out an institutional audit in 2012.
Outcome
- Reference from Dr D.A.C. Suranga Silva, former Director General of SLITHM.
Lessons
- An audit gives leaders an evidence base for reform.
